National Apprenticeship Week - 10 - 16 February

The Maritime and Transport Careers programme had a productive week during National Apprenticeship Week, engaging with many schools in the region and getting involved in various engaging activities with numerous schools across the region. The activities included:

• Brookfield Apprenticeship Fair

• Toynbee Apprenticeship Fair

• Applemore Apprenticeship Fair

• Wildern School Apprenticeship Fair

We connected with over 1,500 parents, carers, young people, and school and college staff throughout the week. One of our partners, DP World, joined us at Wildern School. The pupils showed a particular interest in landside jobs, such as crane and straddle carrier operators, as well as in electrical engineering. We were also pleased to have the HR team from ABP in Southampton attend the event, as many parents of students were eager to learn about the apprenticeship schemes available.
